You completely captured the Darkend Sorrow of the Frankenstein Monster.

Now, what's really interesting about this character is that his entire story was based on local rumors
that were taking place in a small region of Wallachia,Romania; At this time in history humans knew little to nothing about the cause and, effects of death on the human body(a.k.a. Forensics);

So, in order for them to know they had to study corpses but, in the local region it was common to bury the body right after death;This was of course due to the fact that there was no refrigeration at that time in history which is clearly why the body had to be burried so quickly. So the only thing they could do was take the Fresh Corpses from Dark, Cold Tombs or, Fresh Graves and, study them.

Since the locals had no idea as to why this, what they considered apparent grave robbing was being done
local rumors and, speculation gave rise to a fanatsy novel.

Which by the way was crafted by Percy Shelley's Fiancee Mary.
However,it was after percy's suicide that Mary takes on Percy's Last name even though they were Not Married.
