I'd been meaning to color this one for a while just to see how hard it would be. Turns out with an appropriate workflow, flats come out in no time at all. I finished them so fast that I decided to go straight on to shading, which turned out to be substantially more complicated (big surprise). It's not enough to shade each frame on its own, you have to go frame by frame to align shading so that there's some edge continuity. Tricky stuff. Anyhoo, I think it turned out all right.Original lines animationΒ here.

Protip: something like animated PNG would work well if you wanted a transparent background since it supports alpha transparency (whereas GIF is limited to single-color transparency...not to mention 256 colors total).

Sadly few people do because of software dev politics that went on around 10 years ago (the format was actually created in like 2008). APNG didn't get widespread browser support until extremely recently, but by now the term "GIF" has become the new "MP3" further ingraining .gif as a format despite the fact that both formats have long been superseded by better formats.
(fun fact: that last reason is essentially why MP3 and GIF are basically never used in pro-level software development where you can guarantee compatibility by coding your own software stack)
Also DA is a derp and strips out animation when creating downsized thumbnails and what-not, so there's effectively a resolution limit if you don't want to require the user to zoom full size or download the image.
(I wouldn't be surprised if DA never fixes this though because Core includes the ability to upload video files which many tend to use as a higher quality alternative to GIF though videos obviously lack alpha transparency, therefore DA has a financial interest in not promoting the APNG format not to mention video costs less bandwidth-wise)

This was great already, but the color makes it even better. The shading makes her more solid and really shows how good your anatomy and perspective was before. I think all your effort was really worth it.
