Chapter 5. – V. version – The blue coated hunter

You just cried on the corpse of Cerberus, even if he said - much to your surprise – that you should run away as long you can. You waited for the monsters to take your life as well. It then started raining, the sky was cring with you, you closed your eyes and welcomed the Grim Reaper.

But nothing happend, you felt no pain. Then you heard something it sounded like unhuman screams and ... Seems like the swings of a sword. Those sounds continued for a while until they fell silent. Until a voice broke the silent. “Still crying and almost getting killed.” This voice, it couldn’t be! You looked up and saw mylord Vergil standing next to you, he had his normal look, no a mix of his cold stare a lightly mixed with worry. Surprise and confusion was written on your face, what was he doing here? Why and how did he know? And was he the one who killed those monsters? Those question flew in your head, so that you didn’t notice the Katana in his left hand. “If you want to stay here to get sick and probaly killed by some others continue laying here.” He still looked down at you. Before he could move away you layied your cape on the ground and Cerberus on to warp it around him, you removed his collar and folded him in the cape. As you where done you carried him back and mylord Vergil walked infront of you.

On the whole way back both of you where quiet, you had his dead body tightly in your hands. As finaly the front gate came in sight there stood everyone with umbrellas and worry written on their faces. As Vergil stood infront of his father he told him everything as you where attacked with hugs, Ray took the body of Cerberus from you. After those hugs you pulled away and went inside right to your room and threw yourself on your bed, without drying yourself. You held Cerberus collar close to you and you cried. Until you fell asleep, out of exhaustion, you cried.

As you woke up you found yourself in a different position. The blanket wasen’t under you anymore it was on top, you couldn’t recall that you laid under the blanket and you had different clothes and your shoes weren’t on anymore. So did somebody came in here after you fell asleep and switched your clothes? You couldn’t figure out that and you stayed in your laying position. The sadness was still deep in your heart and you feared that it will not unshackle you soon.

You heard a knock on your door as Lenzia and Dark came inside with breakfast. “Good morning (y/n).” Lenzia said in her cheerful voice, but you notice that even she was still a bit sad about Cerberus. “You can stay there. Mylord Sparad gave you a break so that you could recover.” Dark said as you wanted to get up. With that you ate breakfast in bed and stayed in your room, you put Cerberus’ collar on your bedside table. You where laying there, staring at the blank ceiling. So it went on for a few days until something important happend.

It was a quiet day and you where still in your sadden state. There was then a knock on your door and you heard the voice of mylord Vergil asking if he could enter, you gave him your permission. When he came in he had a box with him, you looked at him confused. He sat down on your bed and asked how you are, whoch you where really suprised. Your answer was still the same, you didn’t feel good. Then he said that he got something that will cheer you up some, but that it wasen’t his idea from the start and gave you the box. As you had the box on your lap you felt movement from the inside of the box. Confused and excited you open up the box and what you saw made your eyes go wide. Inside the box was a little dog, it looked like a huskey. The dog looked at you with his bright blue eyes and you stare back with your (e/c) eyes. “His name is Geri, father thought about this as a good idea for you.” You took the little huskey and set it down on your lap, after you set the box on the ground. He pawed at your belly as he looked at you and gave a little bark. To be honest you fell in love with this little doggy. And thanks to mylord Vergil and mylord Sparda you made it out of your sadden state and was your cheerful self once again.

Now you where walking to the room of mylord Vergil with a ‘Bluebeery Sunday’ as a sign of gratitude, you also gave a similar sign of gratiude to mylord Sparda but he said something with made you really suprised! He meant that the idea with Geri wasen’t his it was Vergil’s idea from the start, so now you knew that mylord Vergil was actually the one you have to thank the much. Geri was walking beside you as you both made your way to him, Cerberus’s collar was now Geri’s collar. You where really happy to have met him.

So, this makes Vergil version of the chapter too! And yeah it’s similar to Dante’s version but with a few different statements.
