Sylvia is a shiny female Gardevoir born on February 14th, 2014. The date of her birth is no coincidence; she embodies all of the emotions of Valentine’s Day: affection, loyalty, empathy, and love. Her lighthearted attitude and love of life lets her enjoy simple things like silly jokes or goofing off with her best friend, Violet. Don’t let her carefree personality fool you though; when the situation calls for it, she’s more than capable of assuming a more serious, mature role and tackling problems head-on.

In public, her modest nature takes the lead and she comes off as innocent and reserved, but at home her true colors show as she becomes a ruthless and playful tease. Although Sylvia can communicate fluently both vocally and telepathically, she alternates based on who she’s conversing with and generally reserves telepathy to only those she’s truly close to. She generally speaks in a formal and soothing fashion, coming off as a comforting and conversational person.

In general, few things bring Sylvia more joy in life than her friends and loved ones. Doing things like playing video games with her friends, cooking and baking for her loved ones, drawing adorable things, playing lovely tunes on her violin, singing duets with Violet, watching silly action movies, learning pointless facts, eating junk food, cuddling, reading, and simply enjoying a casual hike through nature all fill her to the brim with happiness. Her endless optimism cheers up everyone around her, brightening even the darkest of moods. When she needs to wind down, Sylvia finds comfort in snuggling under some blankets and relaxing or spending time with her loved ones.

In particular, Sylvia finds a lot of comfort in Violet, who she’s been close to for the majority of her life. Having known Vi since her childhood, the two have always been close friends and find solace in each-other’s company. Serving as Violet’s loving mentor - by virtue of being older and more mature than her - and best friend, Sylvia is always there to guide her through life and teach her new things – although Sylvia learns quite a lot from Violet as well. Sylvia is responsible for designing Violet’s “flower” dress and she continues to treasure it to this day.

Physically, Sylvia is very similar to the average canonical Gardevoir. That being said, she does have some defining features that set her apart from others. She stands a bit taller than most at 5’6”, and her small breasts emphasize her feminine form. Sylvia’s heart crystal is small, but it’s actually more sensitive as a result of its diminutive size and it allows Sylvia to more easily embrace the ones she loves and draw them as close to her as she can.

Without a doubt, the most defining feature that distinguishes Sylvia from other Gardevoirs is her dress. The flowing, black outfit is one of her most cherished possessions. It was designed by her significant other and given to her as a gift when she evolved from a Kirlia. While she has other outfits that she wears from time to time - and her favorite nightwear that she slips into before going to bed - , the black dress that she slips on every morning is symbolically “Sylvia”.

Sylvia’s protective attitude towards those she loves has heavily influenced her as she’s grown. Despite her petite size she is quite powerful, both physically and mentally. This power came from a deep desire to protect the ones she loves from harm, as well as being naturally born with strong characteristics. All that being said, Sylvia prefers to avoid using her strength if at all possible and instead uses it as a last resort. While she’ll never admit it, part of the reason why she prefers to avoid fighting is because of her power – she worries that if her loved ones saw her fight to her true potential, they would become afraid of her.

Her protective nature has also made her slightly paranoid around anything mechanical. Things like cars, elevators and motorcycles make Sylvia tense, as the thought of mechanical failure or accidents are always in the back of her mind. Through use of Future Sight, she manages to ease her troubled mind to reassure herself that everything – and everyone – will be okay.

Relationship with Violet: Violet and Sylvia have known each-other since they first met as a Ralts and Kirlia through their then future husbands. Over the months and years, they’ve gotten to know one another and eventually formed a unique, unbreakable bond that would be impossible to reproduce with any other Gardevoir or person. What started as friendship quickly turned into best friends and from there blossomed into something much more; the two had become soul mates and now share a beautiful and intimate bond.

Being the guardians of their husbands sometimes causes great stress to Violet and Sylvia. When the fear and worry of things outside their control - things such as traffic accidents, natural disasters, and disease - begins to overwhelm them, they know they can find comfort in the other’s embrace to ease the load of being a protector. For the time they are together in each-other's embrace, they can stop being guardians and simply relax, immersing themselves in comfort and pleasure. While different from the love they have for their husbands, the love they share with one another is just as genuine and runs just as deep. The trust Violet places in Sylvia and vice versa can only be described as being absolute.

Their husbands are aware of the stress that Violet and Sylvia feel watching over them due to their busy lifestyles and the many dangers that life presents. For this reason, they encourage them to find peace in one another to ease their worries. Although the two are happiest in their husband's arms, even a Gardevoir needs a Gardevoir sometimes. In the end, their love and loyalty to each other and their husbands remains unshaken, and the intimacy they experience with each other has allowed them both to grow as Gardevoir in ways that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise.
