Description
Great egret flew over my head at Scarborough Marsh (Maine). One of, if not the largest, marshes in Maine. Audubon protected...also part of the Eastern Trail goes through it.Sadly, I didn't see a glossy Ibis, but did see kingfishers, different sandpipers, an osprey, a northern harrier (marsh hawk), and other things. Tons of gulls. 6 great egrets, no snowies.
The skies were overcast, so I didn't know how this would come out. I added a little contrast so it wouldn't look so "blown out". I should've used a faster shutter speed.
If you look closely you'll see the wing bones, like an Xray. Cool.

What a wonderful capture! It does look like a skeletal frame floating through the sky; How appropriate that you would find this shot in a marsh setting.
It's hauntingly beautiful.

Yeah, a blue sky probably would've taken away from the effect. It still would've looked nice, I think, but the feeling definitely wouldn't have been the same.
And no problem~ They were great pictures.

I recently saw another photo on FB, same "shot" but a blue sky. The effect was better. I preferred it over mine. Something good in either scene.
