This picture of Ardyn is really lovely! You did a great job on his expression too! and the atmosphere -coulours, light and all little lively details- look awesome! I think that the background don't need to be more detailed, after all, that way we can totally focus on the character and what is just in the close surrounding area. 
Oh, I agree, he has way too much layers of clothes... >< but you did well painting them all!
I kind of find Ardyn really interesting to... he's one of the most interesting characters in this game for sure! I think he need even more.. oh, no sorry, I want to know more about him (and them all!).

I really don't know, but I honestly wish we could have a DLC fully involving him or something... I mean, a glitch revealed he was initially programmed in a way so he could fight alongside the player as a party guest, just like Aranea does, so... Maybe there's still hope

Have you read/watched videos of theories about Ardyn's story? It's really interesting... and an other theory make me think that we could have a chance to have a DLC with some surprises, I Think we won't have major surprises with Prompto's and Ignis' just some explanations about their own way in the game events. But I read that we'll hopefully have an other 'surprising' one..? Oh, whatever... we have our imagination for now. and there is style hopefully indeed.

I think he's one of the best Square Enix has made in a long time, I know a lot of people will hate me or disagree with me on this but he is a much better enemy than Sephiroth.

Oh my, what a wonderful drawing of this asshole!
I'm in love with all the little details and his facial expression. FF character designers tend to over-design characters sometimes, but I think Ardyn wears too many layers even by Final Fantasy standards.
To be honest, I thought his head looked a tad bit too big compared to the rest of his body at first glance, but it's probably just the pose. Anyway, amazing artwork! I wish I could do digital painting as beautifully as you do~

I just love how this came out. The shading looks fantastic. Everything about him looks great, his face, his hair, all the detail of his clothes.
