other names they tried include: "It Might Be Butter," "Does It Really Matter Wether It's Butter or not?" and "I Was Always Told It Was Butter, But I'm Not So Sure Now." Jeremy, the naming committee's token atheist, begged the question, "why can't we just call it margarine?"Related content

I like the 'toon and the thought behind it.
However, in the author's comments, there's a line I can't agree with: I don't see "Does It Really Matter Wether It's Butter or not?" as an Agnostic viewpoint. That's laziness, not intellectual honesty. Agnostics are likely to want an answer, and actively strive to find one, sifting facts out of a huge basket of chaff. An agnostic is an intellectually honest & rigorous searcher, not a couch potato.

as an agostic myself i don't find that a lazy aditude. but rather a statement that their are more important things to worry about in life than the existance of god. sure, i enjoy searching for answers and learning about religons around the world, it's actualy one of my favorite subjects. however, i feel that it truly does not matter when it comes to my life. sure, in the global and political scope of things religion is hugly important. this stupid war we're in is living proof of the weight of religion. but when it comes to my own personal life it does not matter wether their is or issen't. if their is, great! if their isen't, wonderfull. it's my feeling that geting too cought up in looking for answers to that particular question only gets in the way of more important prolems in my life. "Does It Really Matter Wether It's Butter or not?" is a statement against waisting time and energy on frivolous pursuits, not one of lazyness.

sometimes i like to mix i can't believe it's not butter, with butter, to make "i can believe some of it's butter!"
i went to a restaurant, and a waitress asked me if i wanted butter. I replied, "i don't know what to believe anymore.

how was breakfast? unbelievable.
you get a gold star for quoting Demetri Martian. it was his "I Can't Believe it's Not Butter" bit that inspired this little comic.
