Description
other names they tried include: "It Might Be Butter," "Does It Really Matter Wether It's Butter or not?" and "I Was Always Told It Was Butter, But I'm Not So Sure Now." Jeremy, the naming committee's token atheist, begged the question, "why can't we just call it margarine?"Related content

lol me and my friends have come up with an entire "It Might be Butter!" idea where there is a 50% chance you get butter. The other 50% could be anything that could fit in the container. Examples: Xbox, dead rat, McNuggets, another box of "It Might Be Butter!"

You know, I was just thinking. Your little anecdote with the picture reminds me of Douglas Adams! Seems like the sort of thing he'd say. XD

Haha, I love it! Actually, Kroger's off-brand of "I cant believe it's not butter" is called "Butter it's not!"
Whose viewpoint would that be?

Butter is a completely imaginary concept, and there is no proof it actually exists.

Awesome. I don't think I've ever had the problem of thinking it might be butter, but I find this funny because I'm Agnostic.

I've been browsing you're gallery and find you quite funny. When I saw this comic I thought I should mention that margarine was actually intended as a substance to fatten up turkeys on farms. But unfortainatly for the turkeys, it turned out to be toxic for them. Many, many turkeys lost their lives due to margarine. However, it wasn't all bad. One day, some idiotic farmer decided to put some turkey-killer on top of his toast. And thus a butter substatute was made!
....Yeah. I teach random people usless facts often. I'm not sure why.

What do you think it would be from the Atheist's point of view?

Your sense of humour is fantastic. The comics speak for themselves, but your descriptions give an even greater depth to them.

Excellent. That always seemed like a stupid name to me. They should market to Unitarians: "Butter? Cream Cheese? Hell--It Could be Jelly."

Isn't it better to believe that it is butter, just in case?
I for one know that it's margarine, and there's nowt you can do about it.

I'd like to know what would happen if they sold the product as butter sticks, distributed it in the Bible belt, then told everyone it wasn't really butter. Would we have a buttery new Scopes Trial on our hands then?

working off the other definition of agnostic, "We can't really prove if it's butter or not." totally works too.
