On the whole I'm happy with this, but there are parts that I like more than others. I think the lightsaber itself, as well as most of her skin and clothes have turned out pretty well. For the lightsaber, I used a thin blue area around the centre part of the blade, then went over that with a lighter blue and expanded that slightly to suggest a diffusion of light from it. It took a bit of trial and error on a separate piece of paper to try and find the right shades for her clothes, but I think I got them close enough to what was in the film. Some of the blue reflections on her hands and face have turned out pretty well, but other ones don't quite look right. Still, that's just something else to practise as I go forward. The background used a lot of different shades of purples, blues and greys, but I think they all merged together to create a decent space effect, which was accentuated by the gel pen stars. Like I said, on the whole I'm pleased with this, and I'll probably end up drawing more of Rey in the future.
