I think that this pretty much hits the 80s comic cover vibe that I was going for! There's a few more modern touches here and there, but on the whole, I achieved what I wanted here. Across the whole picture I tried to really blend out the shadows into the highlights by adding quite a few layers of the promarkers to build up the various tones. I think the bold colours I chose for his outfit and the lightning effects work really well, and stand out nicely against the greys of the cloudy background. I do kind of wish that I'd paid a little bit more attention to the clouds in the background, and made them more of a vortex sweeping around the spinning effect of the hammer, but it doesn't distract from the picture, so I'm not too fussed. A more successful little detail were the circles on his clothes, as I didn't want them to just be a solid whit or a solid grey, so I included a small outline of the same light blue I used for the lightning effect, and I think it's worked really well. So yeah, I think this has been a pretty decent success, even with a few small flaws.
