What really drew my attention to this piece was the scene but also the soft medium hues of death and the homeless man. I really love the attention of detail that you gave inside of death's cloak.

Yep. This made me cry. Pretty much the only thing that stops me from inviting a homeless person into my home is the fact that some of them are very dangerous people.
And like some others, I can't tell if Death is supposed to be removing the "blanket" or putting it in place. Even though you can't see a face, something in his movement denotes pity, like Death doesn't like his job and just does it because he has to. Maybe he is removing this man's only source of warmth to end his suffering a little faster, because heaven is waiting for him.

Homeless people go through really horrible situations. I would not want to be on the streets and freezing to death like this guy. It's very sad.

This work is absolutely stunning; the work you put in definitely shows through the work. What I'm curious to know is if Death is removing the makeshift blanket or if he's almost painted in a comforting light.

This is incredibly sad and you have been able to put that sadness into this picture really well. Unlike others in comments section I do not think that this is Death showing compassion, but the opposite - he is putting the newspaper away and freezing the man to death.
PS: May I ask you what painting technique did you use? I really love the used art.

Wow, I saw this on DeviantArt's facebook page, and it moved me! To apply such a human trait (empathy/compassion) to something like Death, which is often viewed as cold or cruel, is really beautiful. This is a piece that makes me sad, yet hopeful. Your art is very visually pleasing. Great job!
