Description
Brachiopods and molluscs are wonderful treats - succulent immobile bits flesh practically begging to be eaten. In respect to this, this Dignathan has decided to spend her afternoon scouring the lakebed.Dignathans are descendant from a group of stem-Acripods - a particular clade adapted to eating brachiopods and eurypterids. These animals quickly found their forelimbs, practically useless in swimming, to be very helpful in crushing shells. Slowly, their limbs moved closer and closer to their mouths, before they were fused as a second pair of jaws. Steering was now religated to the claspers entirely. As these creatures grew larger, they began feeding on larger prey, such as Latapods , whose boney shells were no match for their pair of destructive jaws. The particular specimen pictured is a small benthic durophage, feeding on mostly brachiopods and bivalves.

This is an excercise of speculative evolution in which introduced Devonian biota colonise a ruined alien habitat.
