hi-fi rushvs vs no straight roadsΒChai is the protagonist and main playable character of Hi-Fi Rush, a 2023 rhythm-action game developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks. Chai is a 25 year old man who, despite his disabled arm and late start, dreams of someday becoming a rockstar. A golden opportunity falls into his hands when the prestigious Vandelay Technologies announces "Project Armstrong", a cybernetic enhancement project that promises to restore his arm and help him achieve his dream. But when the procedure goes awry, he's granted more than he asked for - he gains the power to make the whole world around him move perfectly to the beat of his music.
Labelled as a defect and hunted by Vandelay Technologies, Chai is forced to unite with a rag-tag group of rebels, where he uses his power to uncover the conspiracy behind Project Armstrong and the dark secrets behind Vandelay Technologies.

Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Weapon Mastery and Acrobatics (Capable of performing a great variety of extremely acrobatic strings of attacks, performing feats of agility and mastery such as full-body spinning attacks, juggling foes in the air and throwing his weapon at a target while running and getting it to bounce right back into his hand[1] or just fly back to him like a boomerang[2]. Managed to non-lethally defeat Korsica, herself a very skilled fighter, by blocking all or most of her attacks and getting her to wear herself down all the way to unconsciousness[3]), Weapon Creation, Weapon Control and Fusionism (Chai can construct and deconstruct his guitar weapon from the rod at its core at will by gathering scrap around it[4], and even add more mass to it by attracting even more material. He can even fuse it with other weapons to improve them, as seen when combining it with Peppermint's gun during Master Blaster. Finally, it will transform into a real guitar when he's performing particularly well in a fight, represented by an S Rank combo in gameplay or when he's defeating a boss. This likely corresponds to an increase in power, given that he does this to deal the finishing blow to foes), Metal Manipulation and Magnetism Manipulation (Chai's robot arm has magnetic powers, which can be used to pull scraps of metal together to create and modify his guitar, as well as pull himself towards metallic objects and enemies as if he had a grappling hook), Bodily Weaponry and Cyborgization (Partial. Note that Chai effectively has access to 808's powers thanks to her being Standard Equipment for him, and can summon Peppermint, Macaron, CNMN and Korsica through her.

Intelligence: Below Average, possibly higher (Frequently depicted as slow to catch on to obvious details, a poor planner, and incapable of learning from mistakes. His ineptitude in rationality is often the cause of trouble, and it is usually his luck that gets him free over his intelligence. However, he does occasionally depict a capacity for brainstorming and theory-crafting that leads him to come up with successful ideas that even intelligent characters miss, such as intentionally belittling Korsica to make her waste her energy, and is a very proficient fighter)
Weaknesses: Chai lacks foresight, and often makes poor decisions as a result. Can only equip up to 5 chips at any one time. Can only store Reverb energy for a limited amount of time. Summoning allies through 808 tires Chai out slightly, essentially giving each of them a bit of a cooldown before being summoned again[8]. Dependent on his guitar for combat, and needs the rod stored inside his metal arm to create it - without it, he is unarmed.
Note: Due to many of Chai's abilities being dependent on chips, and his inability to equip them all simultaneously, it should be specified in Versus Matches which chips Chai possesses during the fight. He can equip up to 5 at minimum power, and less if he wishes to use the upgraded versions.
Zuke is the main male lead of No Straight Roads, the drummer for the rock duo, "Bunk Bed Junction". After being rejected by the leader of No Straight Roads, the music company which practically governs their city, Tatiana, in favor of banning rock and supporting EDM, Zuke bands together with his partner Mayday to bring rock back to Vinyl City and overthrow NSR.

Sent DJ Subatomic Supernova flying into outer space. Defeated and is superior to Eve and Tatiana, who only got sent back a couple of meters by the attack that launched DJSS into space)
