Β Well, goodnight! *faceplants floor*Fun Fact: I jot down silly ideas as I'm watching the episode. I'd roughly scripted an idea of Pinkie getting hold of the amulet and having the sun and moon bounce around the sky at the same time...
...then that ending happened...
I don't think I've screwed up a piece of paper and chucked it in the bin with that much frustration before! XD

Basically the moon illuminates due to the light of the sun refracting off of it. And the sun releases the needed energy for life to flourish on the planet. If the sun completely turns off, no sun = endless winter...
