Description Vinyl has a craving for chocolate Hobnobs it seems. Can't say I'm any better!

Just a little doodle I did on my train journey home, but there's a slightly funny story as to how it came to be!

Basically when I was travelling home I was wearing my legendary scarf, a thick knitted thing roughly made to look like the one Tom Baker wore in Doctor Who. Sat across from me was a rather.....let's say 'ill mannered' chap. No sooner had I sat down opposite him he noticed the scarf and began snickering. It didn't bother me, throughout my life I always seem to have been a bit of an odd one, acting far more civilised than someone my age apparently should! What did annoy me was when he made a pretty bad attempt at trying to secretly take a photograph of me on his phone.

Instead of doing what a normal person would do and confront him I instead decided to get my revenge by taking out my sketchbook and drawing in it, stopping several times and making a point of trying to compare him with the page. He thinks I was drawing him, but instead this is what I drew. To be totally honest, when he tagged on with how often I was making a comparison he began to check his watch and squirm in his seat an awful lot more!

Being friends with the conductor on the train he got a good laugh when I showed him this after the person in question had made a quick exit off the train at his stop. Suffice to say, I think he'll be trying to be more secretive about his photography in future!

Mmm... Hobnobs. *adds to grocery list*

Who doesn't have that one friend who will only drink tea if there are cookies involved? :3
I really like these doodles the best out of your art work. They have a certain feel to them that makes me think that I could have seen them printed along side Bill Watterson and Gary Larson's comics.

Also, that was a most excellent story. I love the train stories you post with your art - highly entertaining!

It's true, we all do seem to have at least one friend like that. I had one who once came with me to have tea at a fancy Tea Merchants solely for the fact they had chocolate cake, then preceded to spend the whole time questioning how on earth I could easily pick up the tea cups when the handles were so small. In fact....... *Begins sketching next pony drawing*

It's good to know that the travelling by train stories are still entertaining as well. Looking for inspiration? Come to the UK and ride a train! Sure our railway system has gone down the drain since the 1960s, but it's still good to know that (most of) the staff are still as quirky as ever!

If things go as planned, I'll be in there this May. So I may just get a chance to experience it first hand! Everyone I know that's ever used the trains there have come away with at least one good story. It's possibly not unlike riding the subways in New York or L.A., except that the staff in the U.S. is rarely quirky, just rude.

Now that I know you're a man who truly appreciates tea, I was wondering what kind of tea you like best? I have a store near me with a couple hundred loose leaf teas to choose from. And frankly, the selection is over whelming. I've always been partial to Earl Grey, but I'm looking to expand.

Personally, I normally go for a 'Golden Blend', which is the fancy name for ordinary English tea! If you haven't tried it I suggest you do. Some will say the 'English Breakfast Tea' blend is exactly the same, but having sampled several foreign 'English Breakfast Teas' during my time touring as a musician, I can vouch that nine times out of ten, the blend you get in other countries is usually awful, so go with Golden Blend!

One tea I've become quite partial to is green tea. It may not be the best flavour wise (I can only really describe it as the initial sip tasting slightly like cucumber, with a slightly bitter after-taste. It sounds strange, but just go with it! ) but it certainly does help with sore throats and suffering with a cold!

One thing I will say, don't start off by trying Gunpowder Tea, and that's if they even stock it what with how strong it is! If there are any terms I can use to describe it it'd have to be that it's the 'smelling salts' of the tea world. You'll take a sip, not taste anything, and before you can say "What's all the fuss about?" the taste will feel like someone has just punched you in the jaw. It's rather strong!

Thanks for the advice. I've just picked up a Gold Blend by Yorkshire. I agree with what you said about the 'English Breakfast Tea' that's sold in the U.S. Most of the ones I've tried were pretty awful. But then again, it seems that few of my fellow Americans explore tea beyond Lipton's brand of black death (it turns many of us off from tea). So by comparison other teas are made to seem better than they really are.

I love green tea! And herbal teas as well - especially Jasmine. That light floral flavor. So calming and relaxing that it's hard not to take a nap after a cup. I've seen Gunpowder Tea at the shop before. Who could forget a name like that? It sounds like a good tea to drink after a hang over. Hmm... now I'm wondering if Lipton's Tea isn't Gunpowder Tea by another name. I should test that... for science!

Ah, if it's Yorkshire tea, then you're definitely in for a good cup. The stuff's manufactured not to far from where my parents live.

And testing tea for science? Definitely!

Funnily enough, that film was what first made me fall in love with characters of Octavia and Vinyl!
