Hi, once again you're showing a nice photo. Maybe you can answer me some questions?! Where all your current buzzard photos made on one session / day, or did you found a place where these buzzards can be seen more often? Or did you even use a bait to lure them? And what kind of hide did you use, a big camo tent or just a kind of cape? And some technical questions. If I remember correctly you're using a 500mm or 600mm lens, right? Did you also use this lens for these shots? And did you have to crop the photos or are they nearly full frame images? And maybe you're willing to tell me the ISO / Aperture / shutter speed (I'm just curious because I like to compare my settings in comparable situations with the settings of other photographers.)

Greetings
Daniel

Hi ,how are u !?
I made hide long time ago ( [link] ),maybe 5-6 months ago, from time to time i visit it and leave meat 5-6 kg(maybe 1 times per week) ,shelter is build very close to my home, 5 min with car. This palce is concentrate with buzzards in this time of the year , cos' is filed very close to montain and favorite place for this birds I dont have lot of time to go there and to waiting, but i made lot of nice shots for 2-3 times , birds a lot cos' winter here in Rila Montain is very hard now ,lot of snow ( [link] , [link] , [link] ) and they can't hund by themselfs ,thats why i count infront of my shelter maybe 10 different buzzards, lot of ravens, magpies and jays.
Now i'm have 400 mm 2.8 USM IS and all shot made with it , also 1d mark 4 camera (1.3 crop) range between me and buzzards is maybe 20 meters ,and i adjust bite there when i take on mind my 400 mm + 1.3 crop all images are nearly full frame (just some composition cromp) ,lower distance is not a problem one of my frinends one time use 300 2.8 and made full frame images too ,everything depends from gear and MM ))))) .About images and settings ,like i sad 400 2.8 + 1.3 crom and most of the time 400 iso ,in brght snowy day shutter speed is 1/2000-3200 f 5.6 or iso 200 1/2000,when is darker 1/1250-1600 f4 ,but on this white background i made +1. 2/3 compensation just to expose buzzard well ,ravens +2 cos' using normal mettering of camera object + bachground ! Good of the snow is I can made shots even on f 8 and birds are perfectly separeted from bachground (almost like in studio )))) ) I send you some links just to see my shlelter and place !
If you have any other cuestion you are welcome )))!

Wonderful photo! You were really lucky.
Here in Germany, we see them quite often, too, but never this close. They are so beautiful!
