Whew, I finally finished this one. Not because it took me months or weeks to actually do it, it just took me that long to get some time to finish it. What with my computer crapping out twice on me. Luckily I had someone very good with computers to help me out.Ok, now onto the artwork. YES.. this is all painted and not a photo manipulation in anyway. I did use a reference for the leaf though. It took me awhile to get it looking so realistic, I really had to push my limits, but I was happy for the challenge.
I decided to make the ladybug yellow because there were so many red hues that I wanted to make it a similar color while letting it stand out from the rest. I got a good critique about the ladybug and how it seemed less realistic than everything else and tried to fix it already. I'd love to hear comments and suggestions!
By the way, the leaf is supposed to be a Japanese Maple in case anyone was wondering.
Time: Off and on for awhile, but on the whole, probably about 10 hours.
Tools: Photoshop CS, Wacom Tablet

Sorry I have been so slack with getting back to folks, but better llate than ever, well that is what I tell myself.
This is a great piece, love the colours and composition, but most of all I love the depth of field and observation in the this piece, great stuff!!!

I completely agree with your, "better late than never" thoughts. That's how I've been feeling lately. I just can't seem to find a moment to myself!

Thangs are going well, work is ticking over, a little light a the mo but the breather is nice. I have moved my office around, and will freshen up my website, so all is good really.

Why has noone commented this? this is simple awsome! love the realistic feel of it, when i saw the thumbnail i thought "This has to be a photo" ive been painting in photoshop with a wacom, nothing more fun
