Description
Part of a postcard project I'm doing for my Computer arts applications class. I'm doing a duality theme: Dressed up vs. Dressed down. This is the dressed up side, obviously. Did it all in a day so it's fairly simple, but I think I'm getting the hang of my coloring process. It's going much quicker.Special thanks to and for helping pick out Virgil's wardrobe. Excuse me, but is it okay for you that I borrow this picture for a forum-avatar for myself? It's quite difficult finding such great pics like these, and even rarer to find them clad in suits. To find one with an awesome hat like that too must've been a miracle xD
I will try to make it only a temporary forum-avatar though, as I will be trying to make my own. However, my artistic skill is...somewhat lacking. Atleast when it comes to this style.

Nice pimp cane. The fur on the face looks really strange, It has so much less texture than the clothing, It looks really awesome like that though. I cant remember seeing anything like that before. Will you be uplaoding the dressed down one?

Yeah, she's on her way. AS for the whole less texture on the face thing, that's something I picked up from Jeff Axer. He does something similar to his characters. I think it makes them look more human and less creepy, as opposed to something by, say, Dark Natasha. She's a great painter no doubt but her characters kind of look like "Oh hey my dog just stood up on two legs and grew abdominal muscles". Making furry characters too bestial tends to look really creepy to the uninformed.

Then I shall wait. Hmmmmmm, I'll have to look into this. I'm watching Jeff, but I've never noticed him do that, maybe I just wrote it down to style and left it at that, but either way I'll definatly have to do some more comparisions.

Well, style for most artists tends to boil down to who you learned what from.

Nice picture. :] The first thing I noticed in this picture was the coloring style, particularly the shading. It's soft yet not too soft where the shadows don't melt in. The outfit is quite snazzy. I'm curious though, does he have a tail? Like a small one?

Virgil (that's this mooks name)does have a large bushy tail but he doesn't like to show it off in pictures so he decided to keep it behind himself today.
