Description
Though commonly known as River Parrots, these creatures are closer to salamanders and newts than birds. As their name suggest, River Parrots are found near rivers, lakes, pounds and springs, depending on clean water for breeding and raising their young they are extremely sensitive to changes, becoming a good measurement for pollution levels on the water. Though deeply connected with their watery home, the River Parrots have evolved to search for food in dry land. A bipedal stance, air breathing lungs, dexterous hands and a strong beak allow the River Parrot to venture further into the woods in search for fruits, insects and any other small animal it can grab. These 30cm tall creatures aren't exactly the fastest runners around, but their mobility is definitely high among amphibians. They are monogamous creatures that usually lives in small groups of 3 to 5 families raising their offspring in communal nests until sexual maturity when they leave their family's territory.
