Description
I really don't know what to say. This is my first full sculpture. And, obviously, I had to pick one that was extremely difficult. But I really liked the design from How to Train Your Dragon 2. Originally, he was going to be Valka's alpha, but I accidentally burnt him in the oven (new apartment - I'm sticking to my toaster oven from now on) I wasn't sure if the white and blue would cover it. Overall, I learned a TON doing him. His tail alone took at least an hour to learn how to manipulate the clay the way I wanted. The fins came out too long but I couldn't figure out how to make it strong enough without the longer supports. I was SO excited to have a wire skeleton with LEGS so I could have a little more dynamic pose than my little clay figurines. Haha, I realized I made his legs WAY too long and had to cut them off. He's actually about the size and weight and feel of a juvenile bearded dragon! So I guess I nailed the lizard-like qualities of the design. The painting went much better than I expected; I haven't painted anything with real paint since high school That was a long time ago. I did make some other mistakes but you can't really see them anymore since I fixed them. He's surprisingly sturdy, although I added the wooden base to safely move him. His toes are a little too fragile. Also, I'm aware he should have chains. I debated on this, but I decided I didn't want to put chains on such a beast. So we can pretend its before he's captured

Time: 1 Fairy Tail Arc, 1 episode of Once Upon a Time and Hocus Pocus (or, approximately 15 hours total!)
