Description A beautiful fall day with a bright blue sky and colorful leaves, yet my favorite shot is IR. Go figure.
Taken at a cemetary in Lincoln, RI.

Wow..... I love the sun on the statue's head.... and the colors... I've never a place full of snow in my life... and it seems to be so soft.... I would love to be there... by the way, cementeries (even if it sounds extrange) are great places to take pictures with a loneliness air and peace environment........=VioLeS

Very good work. Are these from a setting on a digital camera or IR film? Which filters do you use?

I took this photo with a digital camera (Canon G3) with a Hoya Infrared R72 filter. Plus, I used a custom white balance setting that changed the colors considerably.

Thanks for the ! I really appreciate it!

Your welcome.

I have some IR that I'm going to shoot hopefully soon. The filter I'm going to use is a B&W specific red filter. I'm not sure how well that compares to the Hoya, but I've been told it will work. I've also got some color IR that I'm excited to shoot. I need nature to be just right for that though. I'm waiting to shoot it when all of the colors are real bright.

I'm getting a Nikon D70 soon so I'll have to see if that has an IR setting.

great shot, I have taken one of a similar angel in a cemetary but the effect is no where close to yours, you do amzing things with your shots

Awesome IR - I love how you've positioned the sun behind the statues head - the glow that has been created by that really adds to the shot. It's really neat, the grass in this case almost looks like ashes (the way it clumps together etc). I would have to say that this is my favourite IR shot of yours

Awesome colours. The b+w ness of the ground things makes it look creepy and dead, like... it's frozen or something. o.o

It is a great shot, the leaves are a bit blurry, perhaps a windy day? You're amazing with IR by the way.. is that a function on your camera?

Thanks for the input, bud.
Yes, the leaves are a bit blurry - fall in New England means windy days, but I really don't mind. It sorta adds a softness that is mysterious, no? Or not.

No, IR isn't a function on my camera, but that's definately an idea you should bring to Canon! Thanks again!
