Hey! Soo Ive been working on this piece for about 3 days! I was inspired to work hard and try to pull off a lovely composition by who's painting style inspired me! also I followed her guidelines on how to become better at drawing/painting! -> How to become a better artist instantlyI'm a very introspective person. I spend a lot of time thinking about me, evaluating myself, problem-solving my performance.
So, being an artist, I always come across the problem: How can I be a really great artist?
Not in 10 years, not in 10,000 hours... I wanted to be good, like, NOW.
So I came to this discovery.
When I draw, I have a tendency to be very selfish.
What does that mean?
It means I make decisions that only benefit me, not the piece I'm working on.
It means thinking thoughts like, "I don't wanna re-do the background, I spent like 5 hours on it!" or "I don't want to cover up those hands, they look so good!"
And when you think about it, the only thing that does is make your illustration a collage of things you weren't willing to compromise.
If you want the piece to be good, you have to be ready to give your art the respect it deserves.
Stop being selfish. S

Anyways! So I needed to create a fan art of Bubblegum Princess x Marceline because A. I haven't done one is a long long time, and B. I WANTED TO DO ONE FOR CONVENTIONS TO SELL! : P I really wanted to dress them like hipster-grunge kids xD bc I go to art school and I felt like they would be the perfect fit to pull off the look. Ps. They're riding the Rainbow Unicorn from the show : P
