Description This is one of the vehicles from my canceled Star Wars Fanfiction Series: Star Wars: The Shadow Wars.

Note: The information below is from my own universe which is a blend of old and new canon and is not to be considered canon in any other universe but mine.

The image was acquired through Garry's Mod

Please note that this exact model of starfighter does not have a proper name. Ergo I gave it the name "Eta-1 Firesprite."

"Master, what are these? They look like Dwarf TIE Fighters." "Do you judge them by their size?" - Tahiri Velia and Jacen Solo in 29 ABY after the Battle of Taris.

During the Clone Wars, Kuat Systems Engineering worked regularly on developing new ships and fighters for the Republic, with a special commission for the Jedi Order to develop small nimble starfighters for the Order to use in the war. The Eta series was one such resulting series. While the Eta-2 Actis was the one that saw the most production, a smaller, similar model was produced for the more diminutive members of the Jedi Order such as Master Yoda, Even Piell, and Depa Billaba. The Eta-1 Firesprite was this smaller model. Because they were meant for smaller organics, KSE turned to the Paploon people of Paplo Minor, a diminutive near human race known for their expertise in adapting larger scale machinery for individuals with smaller statures. The Paploons helped in the development of the Eta-1 and remarkably the Paploons still use the Eta-1 even as of 28 ABY as one of several smaller-scaled starfighters used to defend their homeworld.

The Eta-1 boasts much of the same stats as the Eta-2 but lacks a secondary weapon. Like the Eta-2 the Eta-1 lacks shields and a built-in hyperdrive, relying on dedicated carriers or hyperspace rings to achieve interstellar travel. However both shields and hyperdrives could be installed into the frame if necessary. In combat, the Eta-1 opens a pair of wedge shaped S-foils to allow heat from the laser cannons to be released, allowing the chill of space to cool the weapons faster.

The Jedi Order possessed only ten Eta-1s during the Clone Wars, four of which were assigned to specific Jedi while the rest were available for general use. Even's was added to the list of generally available fighters following his death in 21 ABY. Depa Billaba's was destroyed by her own Clone Troopers to cut off her means of escaping in 19 BBY after Order 66 was issued. Yoda's, as well as the remaining eight fighters were still in the Jedi Temple when Order 66 was issued, all nine of the fighters being within a section of the Temple that got cut off due to the fighting, the rubble sealing the fighters in along with a whole garage full of Delta-7s, Delta-7Bs, and Eta-2 Actis fighters. These fighters would be recovered nearly fifty years later by the New Jedi Order as restoration of the Jedi Temple began in 28 ABY. The Jedi have since restored a handful of these fighters and modified them with shields and hyperdrives. Most of the Eta-1s have been cannibalized for parts save for four of them, three of them being kept for general use while Yoda's fighter has been given to Jedi Master Ikrit, a former Padawan of the late Grand Master's who has dutifully maintained Yoda's personal crest on the fighter's wings to honor his late Master.

Jedi Grand Master Yoda's Eta-1 was seldom used as he preferred to avoid combat, being more useful on the bridge of warships and in war rooms than on the front-lines. He used his Eta-1 only a handful of times, usually whenever he needed to travel alone. His journals recorded one of these instances when he was led on a journey to discover the secret of preserving his soul within the Force, much like Qui-Gon Jinn had done. R2-D2 was his on-board astromech for the journey and related his experiences with the Grand Master to Luke some forty years after the journey. Anakin Skywalker recalled how Master Mace Windu scolded him for helping Yoda "escape" the Jedi Temple to leave on the journey.

Yoda's journey was detailed in 3 episodes of Season 6 of the Clone Wars series (Episodes 11-13, "Voices," "Destiny," and "Sacrifice") which introduced the fighter. He never used it in combat though.

As for the Starhawk and Onager...eh I probably won't use the Starhawk. The Onager though is a maybe. But just reading through the Onager's profile, It's basically the Dreadnought from TLJ, just the older Empire version. I'm still on the fence about that since we still have the Eclipse Star Destroyer which is basically the same thing, just more powerful.

Y not? The Starhawk certainly seems like something the New Republic would use/make as an interim until the New class ships r operational (just curious as to your reasoning, not trying to pressure u or anything)?

They have new ships though. The New Class program ships like the Nebula and the Endurance ships for one. The Starhawk is simply unnecessary (and tbh kinda ugly)

Lol. Just thought it’d b kinda good as an instant interim but I kinda c your point. But tbh, I kinda think the Starhawk looks kinda cool, despite looking like a beefed up Nebulon-B
