Description
A small step-by-step tutorial in which I create a tutorial pony and you are invited to join me. Doesn't go into too much detail but covers all of the basics as well as some of the more complex stuff.This is not a spriting tutorial. It's just a guide how to code your own desktop pony using the program's built-in pony editor and is meant to be used with Desktop Ponies v1.50 and up.
Here are some downloads to go with it:
Tutorial Sprite Pack Β - contains all the sprites needed to recreate the tutorial pony.
"Tutorial Partner" pony Β - contains a simple desktop pony that can be used for the "interactions" tutorial.

I'm by no means an expert in creating these kind of guides, so if you find mistakes or have helpful suggestions for improvements, please tell me so. I'll try to keep this up-to-date for the time being.

I have no idea why that happens as ponies can't spawn other ponies. All I can tell you is to try and click on the "0 of All Ponies" button before you select those you want to have.

Is there a Luna sized mare template, I cannot seem to find one? Most of my ponies are more her size more than the traditional RD or Vinyl sized.

Not to my knowledge, if we are talking about Luna specifically, but the template pack you can find here comes with a Celestia template as well as templates for taller ponies like this one:Β fav.me/d4sfnzb
You may also edit my own Luna sprites if you want to. Just give credit.

While I did manage to make some sprites of bg pony Merry May, like this one:

every time I try to add her via pony editor following you tutorial, the app just crashes as soon as images of her get uploaded. Any idea on why or should I just get help on Ponychan?

Well, if you could upload your pony's folder somewhere, I could take a look, but at the moment, I have no idea what could have happened. And yeah, if it's a problem related to the program itself (not the sprites), ponychan may be more helpful as you can find our programmer RoosterDragon there.

You can make a zip-file out of the folder, upload it in sta.sh and send me the link via note. I'll then take a look at it.

i've notices you dont take requests, but do you take requests for ponies from the show? like Greta (griffon introdused in the new episode) ^^

Still "no" on requests, but I'm not quite as opposed to suggestions when it comes to canon characters (as in, I might possibly make these characters/animations eventually, but I make no promises, so don't hold your breath).
As for Greta specifically... eh, I didn't particularly care for any of the griffons introduced in the episode, so I'll probably not make her anytime soon.

I download the pack so I could Put in both sides of the Idle Behavior but when I downloaded it I had no idea If that was the images or something else entirely
and if it is the images I do not understand how to put it into the programΒ

Well, you have to unpack the rar-file (it contains all the images needed for the tutorial pony). Then, my advise is to put the images into the folder of the pony you are working on (it's not entirely necessary, but it will make things a lot easier). After this, just follow the tutorial (page 5 - "Creating a basic pony"). Since I still have no idea what exactly your problem is, I don't know how else to explain it.

When I click save, it saves but when I go back on it the pony just gets deleted ;| Not exactly sure how to explain what is happening..

That's certainly strange. Can you at least still find your pony in the "Ponies" folder of the program? If so, I could take a look at it if you send it to me. Either way, the program shouldn't simply delete things, so you may want to ask RoosterDragon (our programmer) in our ponychan thread about it:Β www.ponychan.net/chan/collab/rβ¦
