Since I get repeatedly asked about how I make pony sprites, I created this simple step-by-step tutorial for making a basic trotting sprite.
This is the first time I made a tutorial and I may not be very good at explaining things, but I still hope that you will find this useful.

You are allowed to use it. That's what it's there for, after all.
You don't need to give me credit for using the tutorial, but if you use any of the templates, then yeah, you should give credit to . Also, the templates are only for non-commercial use, in case you were wondering.

I made one of my OC. She's just living on my computer for now tho. I'll link to her if I put her on DA. It took me the better part of a day because of all her details and my perfectionism when it comes to her.

That depends on the program you use. Since I can't offer support for every image editing software in existence, please just search the web on how you can create transparent gifs with the one you use.
Google may not be your friend, but you can't deny it's still be pretty useful.

If you're looking for free paint software, you should try Paint.net. It's completely free unless you want to donate, supports layers, many textures and such... etc... In other words it's pretty great.
Sorry, I read a few comments, and, specifically read where you said MS Paint doesn't support multiple layers. XD
I couldn't help myself to recommend this because it works great for me.
Though the layers thing still confuzzles me.

Um, where is the template for the idle mare? There's one for a tall mare and a chubby mare, but no normal mare. :/

Unless that file mysteriously vanished from your download, it still should be there. It's just called "stand" instead of "idle".
