Description
Trail - Created with Cinema4D, finishing touch using Texture MakerIt was interesting to use the displacement in the material editor to come up with interesting results. The glow trail was also a challenge but came out perfect in my eyes

Looks cool! Though the trail looks a bit weird behind the blob... How'd hou make the trail in c4d?

Do you mean the part of the trail where it intersects with the blob or the right part? which one is weird?
For the trail you can do a freehand-spline, close it and use B-Spline, Bezier or any other to come up with a good curve. Now you can see in the 3D window each point and you can change their location to add depth or improve the curve. Then drag it into a Extrude Nurb. The result will be screwed up but in the Caps tab you can select Fillet for start and end cap so it looks opened.
For the material use the color you want the it to be. For some reasons if you want it to be blue, don't forget to add about 1/4 of the amount of red and green as well. It would look a lot prettier. Next do the same color settings for the luminance (important if you use global illumination). Last toggle on the glow, tweak how you like it and maybe if you want you can toggle displacement and add the default noise texture for some variance, kinks and bumps in your trail.
If you want higher detail you have to go to the spline and change the adaptive points to 0° instead of 5°.
Oh, and thanks for the fave

Yeah, and can you describe why it is weird?

it looks like the blob is placed on top of it, rather than that the trail is going behind it. That;s what weird

Make it another color like light orange. Very light orange

It's hard, it automatically changes to white. I'll render it again, this time using my knowledge of color usage and render a red one with low green and blue values, then change the hue after I did the work in TM
