Aside from the issue of theft, I'm producing a number of arguments about the different reasons why ai generated images are not art, why they do not belong on an art site and why ai users are not artists. I'm publishing them publicly here and allowing any pro-ai prompters to publish their rebuttals in the comments section, if they can.

This is my fifth post of this type so far but it is number 6 because the fourth post contains both arguments 4 and 5. No-one has yet been able to produce any effective counter-arguments to any of the points I've made (a number of pro-ai prompters have replied to my posts to say that they don't like them, or to insult me personally or to tell me that it doesn't matter what I think but only ONE has made a decent effort at actually addressing the arguments I made. Number 6: Lack of Creativity

On the face of it creativity or lack thereof seems like an imperative point when discussing whether or not any practice is considered an art form though please note that I use the word "lack" and not "absence". ai prompters are often very quick to point out that they make little tweaks and that those minor adjustments categorise them as creative. What I'm referring to specifically here is creating something from nothing. An artist can begin with a formless block of marble or a blank sheet of canvas and turn it into a sculpture or a painting. An ai prompter never starts from nothing. They always bypass that point where you approach a huge white square and make that first mark, then begin to visually describe with your pencil - using no words - exactly where and what form that shape will take. This is the moment when creation begins because it's when you transcend from having nothing to having something.

A mathematician might believe that the difference between 99 and 100 is the same as the difference between 0 and 1. But the difference between 0 and 1 is far more important because it is the difference between nothing and something. When you go from having 0 to having 1, THAT is the moment of creation. Bypassing that is like running the last 0.2 miles of a marathon having not run the first 26 miles and then expecting the credit for being a good endurance athlete because you crossed the finish line at the same time as Eliud Kipchoge.

When was the universe created? 13.7 billion years ago with the big bang. Would you say it was created today because it's expanded a little (in relative terms) since yesterday? No because the point at which something is added to something which already exists is not the point at which it is created. Would you claim that you created the universe because you slightly changed something within it after you found it already whole? No. Creation is the start point. No start point = no creation. The act of creating and the act of tweaking are not the same.

NB. I've unblocked every user who has ever made a nuisance of themselves, so clean slate; please come along and present any good arguments which you've got.
