Description
Following the completion the drawing of Alicia I've been going through a period of withdraw that I'm unsure of what to do next. I have been working on a few old projects that have been on the back burner for years. I have been working on this one on and off again this year and still not sure about it. While I have uploaded a few updates on the two largest buildings, I never uploaded the full image, so here is the work in progress drawing.Related content

the infamous post-cool drawing emptiness, i get you n.ñ
Seriously though, i like this one. You put so much details on your work that it's baffling

Indeed, that pretty much sums it perfectly, draw something awesome and you have no idea what to do next or your ego so big that it quivers when you start the next piece that it falls apart.
Thanks I might have went too overboard with this one that its daunting the amount of time need to complete the piece. The second largest building (green one) I was working on a near pixel level of 400 PPI by 4000x8000 or 10x20 inches, a bit too much not to mention very draining since I was drawing details though flat that will never been seen. Parts of it where mirrored, but it still took hours to draw one side, and virtually every window is drawn to be different and unique.
Not to mention while drawing the building I wanted to take inspiration from some of the work I did while doing concept sketches for Troll World. One of the things I wanted to incorporate into this world was that all the buildings took on the appearance of monsters with large jaws and eyes on the decor. This idea came from one of my favorite scenes from Metropolis in which the character Freder hallucinates this massive machine that had exploded as Moloch and the workers are being sacrificed into the monsters month. Thus felt the idea would fitting be to incorporate into these massive office towers that took on the appearance of monsters fused with the architecture.

Damn that's TOO detailed, you'll soon be drawing every person in the windows of the building
I had forgotten that moloch scene, what a great movie. I should have guessed that you took inspiration from it, your cities can be very metropolis-like

Hmm, I might since you brought it up because I'm crazy like that, I could turn into a where's waldo drawing
Thanks, always like the monolithic type buildings transgressed by the fears of the period, that and the just pure fascination of big cities. Speaking of Metropolis have you ever seen the anime Metropolis (2001)? Which is not based on the silent movie but at the same time is, but not, but kind of is. Always like the visual style and soundtrack, and that one moment where this incredibly expensive film looked like it ran out of money and turned into a Ralph Bakshi movie for like three minutes.

Yeeees Where's Alicia?
i saw that metropolis anime, it pissed me off a little that the only thing in common was the city design, it was more like a "art noveau astroboy"

She's... somewhere not in the image... yet. Though I 'might' do something with the character again since I really liked how her design came out, but never got around to showing off all the scars she has, but too scared of the concept at the moment.
Yeah I can see what you mean, in fact not only does it not have any real connection to the 1927 it also doesn't have one to the manga its based off. And don't get me wrong its full or problems with many interesting but half baked concepts making what is a really pretty film into a mess. But yep at least the city looks cool.

It's based on a manga?
Alicia should be in one of the balconies, waving to the front

Yep, a 1949 manga by Osamu Tezuka (Astro-Boy fame). Didn't know that myself till years later as I wasn't too familiar with Anime and Manga back in the early 00's.
Not a bad idea will have to keep that in mind.
