The photo has a story to tell, but a dominating feature suppress the message's clarity. The dark structure on the right off balances the photo. The excessive contrast between the sky and structure, and background building and structure, draw the viewer's eye to the darkness, and away from the informing part of the photo.
While this photo may record what you saw, it does not communicate to viewers what part is important.
If you crop out the right of the picture, you'll free up focus for the gondolas and the chimneyed building in back. Alternatively, you could crop out most of the sky and some of the right portion, bringing the focus to the boats and working area.
