Meet Smolder's G1 and G3.5 counterparts: Flash and Whimsey!

I know these guys don't have much in common other than their colour schemes and all being dragons.
But as everyone compares Whimsey to Smolder, so when I found Flash on the My Little Wiki, I had to make this meme.

Flash is the only male of the three, but I do wonder if his name and colours/appearance inspired Flash Sentry and/or Flash Magnus , given the former's role as a Princess pony's guard and the latter having a red mane similar to the red spikes on G1 Flash. It's probably all coincidental, but still, I wonder.

Flash, being a Spike recolour, lacks wings but his two female successors have them. Interestingly, it took until the short lived G2 line for winged dragons to appear in the MLP Franchise. All the ones in the G1 toys and both the G1 Cartoons (My Little Pony N Friends and My Little Pony Tales) lacked wings, even the adults. EDIT: Actually, I was wrong; there was one One Winged Adult Dragon appeared in the Through the Door 2-parter back in My Little Pony N Friends, known simply as The Monster. Still, Winged Dragons were uncommon until G4. There were also the Stratodons in the Pilot, but they were transformed from various other creatures and weren't considered "Dragons" by anyone else.
