Foal Training Course - Twin Edition

MANDATORY TRAINING:
1. Weaning from the Mother
2. Wearing a Halter
3. To be lead
4. Accepting the feel of a blanket
5. Foal Inspection

OPTIONAL TRAINING:
1. Standing tied
2. Accepting the presence of objects (paper bags, clippers, sprays etc...) --> [ you are here ]
3. Being groomed for the first time
4. Walking over an uneven surface
5. Play time

The twins were almost a year old when the date for their equiBREAK Show was coming close. Roaching their manes was all natural to them and they didn't mind the smaller clipper. Yet when Sheila brought out a big clipper, which was minimum twice as loud as the other one, Sairah was startled. She jumped around, causing Sheila to drop the machine. The clipper bounced around on the ground. Both Cadfael and Sairah panicked. Sheila wasn't able to grab the clipper as the twins hooves were flying everywhere. Owen eventually came to her rescue and pulled the plug. As soon as the machine was out of power, the young Zlesdins calmed down.
It took a few days to reintroduce them to the clipper, but the twins eventually accepted it being used on them.
