Czar, Ves, and Dee take advantage of the spacious indoor to practice over jumps.

Taria strolled down the stallion barn walkway, boots clicking against the brick followed by the sound of heavy hooves. She had saddled CH Deimos quickly and was in search for more to join her for a quick round in schooling in the large indoor.

“Quit it, will you?” came a very British sounding complaint from one of the further stalls and she grinned to herself.

Making her way over to the end of the isle, she brought her stallion to a halt to watch as Catherine Volos saddled her personal stallion, Vesnik.

“Hey Catherine! You getting ready for a ride?” She asked, grinning as the dark haired pixie twisted around to face her, giving the big red beast beside her the ability to begin nibbling on her shoulder.

“Sure am... if Ves decides that he’d rather work instead of eat me.”

Both women chuckled, shaking their heads as Catherine finalized saddling her mount.

“I think I’m going to bring Czar with us as well. He’s been really full of himself lately so I want to see if I can start him over some small obstacles as well, see if he’s cut out for the jumper world.”

Agreeing, Taria angled Dee into a wash stall and waited as Mrs. Volos quickly slipped out of one stall and into another.

With all three horses prepared, the two women led them out of the stallion barn and towards the arena, Taria leading with Dee while Catherine handled both younger warmbloods from behind.

A stablehand spotted them and quickly opened the doors, narrowly avoiding a stink eye as Czar pranced nervously along.

“This should be fun,” Catherine muttered, stroking his neck as Ves snorted impatiently from her other side.

The small group stopped by the entrance to the large dirt ring, Taria moving away from them to set up some of the training obstacles while Deimos stood quietly on his own. He was obviously the most laid back out of the bunch.

“I think I’ll start with Czar first,” Catherine suddenly announced, frowning as the Tartarus colt half reared, his energy seeping into the better behaved brutes near him. She then quickly mounted up, smiling gratefully as Taria returned and slipped aboard her own stallion, grabbing Vesnik’s reins to lead him towards the far wall.

Catherine circled around the arena, warming up over ground poles and giving her youngster the ability to adjust to the indoor before doing anything too crazy.

All eyes focused on the seal bay as he was finally directed to the short jumps, head thrown up and nostrils flaring wildly. To the side, Ves snorted again and jerked at the reins, disliking that he was not the center of his human’s world. His tail flashed against his legs, body shifting restlessly side to side as the pair approached the take off point.

“Bloody hell,” Catherine muttered to herself, gathering Czar’s mane in both hands as she felt him tense up. This wasn’t going to be a gentle trot over the rails as she had hoped.

CH Veles came to the edge of the jump, eyes wild as he stared at the offending thing in his way. He paused and then launched himself over it, determined not to let whatever the crazy thing was touch his precious hooves.
