Managed to find a picture of the Douglas store with no people in it - well, specifically no old friends I've lost touch with and can't contact for permission to publish their pictures. This was facing the left side of the store. I didn't want to blow it up anymore than this because the clarity would be lousy, but you can probably see a few interesting plush in the background. The large lying golden retriever on the bottom of that display facing left is the one I bought, in the other picture.Keene, New Hampshire, Summer 1999

It's actually bigger than it looks in that photo. Apart from it only being the left hand end of the store, it goes back behind that bookstand - you can see two heads/hats behind it.
I have a few other photos, but all of them have people in it who are old friends who I am no longer in contact with, and in one case in particular I think they would be sensitive about me publishing their photo. If you don't mind me pixelating people's faces out, which would look kinda weird, I could post them. I also found I did take one from my 2000 trip, of the outside of the store, but i haven't scanned that.

Oh, yes!! Would you, please? I wouldn't mind the pixelated faces at all, just so long as I could get a few more glimpses into the Douglas paradise that you were lucky enough to experience while it still existed...
Also, wow... in the lower right hand corner of the photo, those must a few of the very first of Douglas's 16" floppy pups! If I am not mistaken, the original twelve of the 16" floppies were introduced in 1999 (Kip Jack Russell, Spencer Rottweiler, Bella Golden Retriever, Sasha Husky, Mandy Yellow Lab, Chester Black Lab, Juliet Bichon Frise, Romeo Boxer, Phoebe Poodle, Reeces Beagle, Lady Springer Spaniel, and Cocoa Chocolate Lab).
I have all of them except for Phoebe the black Poodle. I'm waiting around until I find one in really good condition (since I was foolish enough to not grab one when they were available).

This picture is very slightly cropped to the right, to remove someone from the image. There is another of those dogs in the full version. Can't identify. Seems mainly white with brown patches on back and face. I could post the image, or possibly replace the original.

That looks very close, though - it's hard to tell from the scan - the one in the store seems to have brown patch that starts just behind his ears and runs right down his back. And no collar.
