Description Smoke arrived from the US a few hours ago. The first Douglas or any plush I've bought from the USA in many years. It was late in the afternoon, so I went down to the waterfront where I knew there's still be some late afternoon sunlight.Ā  Don't know if I'm going to stick with 'Smoke' as a name - if so, it'll be a first for a Douglas (I think), but for the time being it'll do. General consensus is that he's a guy. All been a bit of a whirlwind, so we'll try and settle him in tonight.

It might be nice to see other Douglas Group Smoke owners post their own Smoke on the Water photos.

I agree.

Also it would be good to have Deep Purple fans posting their own plush photos.

Ā A fire in the sky.

None of these kids who look at our nonsense are going to get any of this.

You really have a way of capturing light that gives your photos a very sun-kissed, magical feel. I've been wondering if your Smoke had arrived and am so happy to see he's made it to you safely. Definitely looking forward to more of your plushes in the wild pictures featuring him.

I think I mentioned it before, but I like late afternoon light when the sun is getting low in the sky. That's completely unaltered. I had the 'smoke on the water' idea and thought it'd be nice if the water actually looked blue, but the sun was dazzling of f it and turning it golden, too, which prtobably works better anyway. Anyway, thank you I'm very happy to have Smoke here with us.

One thing I noticed immediately, after so long since I've bought a Douglas plush, is how different his plush is to any of my other Douglas's. 'Classic' Douglas plush is nearly always very fine, even when it's long, as in Shiloh. This guy's plush (and colours) strongly remind me of Rhiannon, my lovely Wild Republic wolf. Much fuller and longer than I'm used to from older Douglas. Don't know if that's just a one off thing. Really the colours on him and Rhiannon are near perfect matches, though. You'd suspect the same person of having something to do with the two of them. Well, other than me.
