Yeeeeees watchers, more MousexMinnow! The lack of fanart for this couple is appalling D: So what choice do I have but to fill Deviantart with my own picture of it??? I MUST ADVERTISE THE GLORIOUSNESS OF MOUSEXMINNOW AT ALL COSTS! Seriously, this is such a cute couple and I don’t see much of other Mousewhisker shippings, so I don’t know why it isn’t more popular Probably because no one remembers that part in The Sight where Mousepaw was at the gathering and he clearly had a crush on Minnowpaw <3 But hey, it happened! But then the couple never came back, which made me really sad because I really wanted to see some forbidden romance that WASN’T between major characters! It seems like ALL the forbidden pairings in warriors are with major charries, which really annoys me -_______- I mean…isn’t it just a little TOO convenient that all the minor characters follow the rules and happen to fall in love with someone in their own clan??? Come on, give the minor characters some spotlight for once! Then again, I guess the minor characters always get the short end of the stick in warriors *coughCinderheartgettingLionblazeinsteadofIcecloudcough* But yeah, MinnowxMouse would be a good plot twist. Yes, forbidden love is very overused, but not MINOR character forbidden love! Besides, Minnow and Mouse are just so CUTE together It’s the nice-guy-after-badass-girl situation going on, which I love Mousewhisker has always been shown to be a really sweet guy, while Minnowtail has a bit of an edge to her…she was a troublemaker as a kit, and Mousewhisker commented once that she was “not as soft as she looks.” Still, I imagine with hard work and endless wooing, Mousewhisker could win the girl over XD

But enough of that…does anyone remember how BOTH of them were training in the Dark Forest? Well, that’s what this picture is about! Their relationship has escalated quite a bit from my last picture We’ve gone from Mousewhisker unsuccessfully hitting on Minnowtail and only suceeding in pissing her off to her seeking comfort from him when she’s upset…definitely been a while, right? I guess I wanted to go from a more lighthearted, funny mood with the pairing to a much darker and angsty mood, to show a different side of their relationship. I imagine that while Mouse and Minnow were training in the Dark Forest, they re-established a connection because they were friends as apprentices. Mousewhisker is very happy about this, since his crush on Minnowtail never went away. The two become close, although not quite a couple. The Dark Forest doesn’t exactly approve of love, shall we say When Minnowtail finds out what the Dark Forest is really for and that they plan to attack the clans and destroy the warrior code, she feels terrible for letting herself be recruited. She can’t believe she didn’t realize this sooner, and she leans up against Mousewhisker and whispers, “What have we done?” Mousewhisker is equally horrified, and they both decide to fight on the side of the clans, even if it means giving up their friendship and potential romantic relationship. OH, THE FEELS!

Speaking of feels…I just realized Mousewhisker’s face looks almost exactly like the feels face WHAT. This picture was actually pretty quick and easy to draw, and the coloring was fast too. I was able to draw the outline, color the picture, scan it in, and add the background all in the same day! Then again, I guess that’s not TOO surprising since it’s just a headshot, which aren’t too hard to draw. I was kind of bummed out that I didn’t get to draw Minnowtail’s awesome yellowy-orange eye color, but I figured the picture would look more emotional if her eyes were closed. I can’t decide whether I like or hate all the fur in their ears Also, the background is a pretty good representation of the Dark Forest, dontcha think? :3 Not exactly what I imagined it looking like, but close enough. The trees are certainly creepy!
