The Realization

Dragonborn stood there, thunderstruck, staring in shock and disbelief at the woman, glaring back at her from the ground.

The woman she had just gut punched ... gut punched with some light effects and literally nothing more.

"Bahath's sacred wings ...", she muttered, as clarity hit her like a hammer to the face, "the Dragon's Spirit did not harm you at all! There is no way you can possibly be a mass murderer of innocents!"

"Gee, y'think?!" Thunder Woman shot back with biting sarcasm.

She rose to her feet, fuming mad. Dragonborn was too baffled to say anything. She felt confused ... but also ashamed. Bahath's divine Dragon's Spirit sword was able to attack the mind, punishing criminals, murderers and torturers especially, by making them experience their victims' pain. Several times, if intended. And Dragonborn had intended that. But the only pain, Thunder Woman felt, was that of a superpowered gut punch. That told Dragonborn all she needed to know.

She had wrongly accused a noble woman, a true superheroine, to be a murderer.

Her pugnacity was gone, replaced by sheer guilt. But she was also confused.

"I ... I do not understand ... I saw you do it. I watched you from afar, incinerating everything with your red bolts of lightning. I ran as fast as I could ... but I was not able to make it in time to save the people here."

Thunder Woman stared at her, equally mad and bewildered.

"And I saw YOU on the news, butchering people like they were nothing! And you clearly enjoyed it!"

Dragonborn's jaw dropped.

"What?! Absurd! Why would I do something like that?"

"Beats me!", Thunder Woman replied, putting her hands on her hips. "Why would I? That's bull ...!"

She blinked.

"Wait ... did you say red bolts of lightning?"

Dragonborn nodded.

"I can see now, yours are blue ... and that you are clearly noble and well-meaning. You did not do it ... but neither did I. I would never raise my sword against an unarmed opponent, let alone a citizen. Not only is it against the Dragona code, it is against everything I stand for."

However, the white-clad heroine in front of her wasn't listening, she seemed distracted, staring off into the distance.

And now that her anger was gone, Dragonborn felt it, too.

There was a presence in the air, like they're being watched. Hardly perceptible, yet omnipresent ... and clearly hostile.

"Someone's screwing with us!" Thunder Woman observed.

There seemed to be a slight tremble in the sky now. Was that ... distant laughter?

"Say, Dragonborn", Thunder Woman mumbled, "do you know of any vengeful gods, who get a kick out of playing tricks on you?"

"Not for the last millennium or so", she responded.

The two heroines faced away from another now, searching the sky for any signs of an incoming attack.

Thunder Woman flashed a lopsided grin, rolling her eyes. She felt like the butt of a joke, that just wasn't funny.
"Well, hot dammit, you're older than you look ... and I'm afraid I do ..."

DRAGONBORN VS THUNDER WOMAN: A Clash of Storms

Welcome, readers!

The first canonical ( at least in my canon ) meeting between Thunder Woman and Dragonborn is about to go down.

And it will go down in this multi-style story, featuring both comic and text ( so it can be done high quality AND quickly ).
