Description
10x14 Gold Leaf Ink & WatercolourGlaurung was the first of the Dragons, in J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional Middle-earth Legendarium. He was known as the Deceiver, the Golden, and the Worm of Greed.
My first attempt at fantasy!

Thanks! I think the next one will be a Iridescent Chinese Imperial with silver highlights.

Thanks! Yeah I struggled with choosing... I was debating reds and oranges to go with the gold but the contrast works too. I think he looks more majestic this way.

Oh well thank you, I'm glad you like it! Watercolours can be such a finicky thing, I never know how it'll turn out until it's done.

Thanks! I really like the added shimmer to the painting with the gold leaf. I ended up adding it right into the watercolours I was mixing so that the whole dragon shines in the light. It's difficult to see that online but it's something I'll definitely do again.
