I really like this a lot, excellent tonal range in this. I would like to see it where the hydrant wasn't so centered, but other than that, spot on!

there must have been many fires in this neighbourhood! heh, the old rusty look on this hydrant make it look ancient and a bit classical. i do like the one in your scraps better though- it has a bit of red glow on it that adds nicely with the lighting and the colours on the hydrant.

Yeah. There was something about the one in scraps that I liked, too. It's why I decided to uploaded two versions instead of just replacing the other. For me, they each have their own mood/tone.

Yeah, they really do, which is what makes them both great even though they're the same photograph!

I'm liking that the depth of field isn't completely blurred in the distance - you can still see some detail.
The blacks are also very well balanced.
