Ah, yes. After Hillary Clinton lost the U.S. Presidential Election to Donald Trump, she made her graceful and humble speech to the country, telling everyone to come together as one, regardless of who the winner was. This was of course the day after, as opposed to immediately, due to "being too upset from the loss". Yeah, because THAT sounds someone who's strong enough to run AN ENTIRE COUNTRY!

ANYWAYS…

During her speech, she made a comment about the "glass ceiling". Yes, she was referring to a female becoming President of the United States, but the argument is still a tired, old feminist claim about how women and minorities are SOMEHOW IN THIS DAY AND AGE prevented from raising to or above standards that were previously achieved by others. More information on it here:

www.merriam-webster.com/dictio…
www.feminist.org/research/busi…
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glass_ce…

Little did she know (or care to know, for that matter) that the following 11 women set milestones (not necessarily achievements, but milestones; big difference) in the United States Government during the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election:

Melania Trump, first person born in a communist nation to become U.S. First Lady. *Yes, I agree, not much of a milestone, but still one nonetheless.
Kellyanne Conway, first woman to win U.S. presidential campaign.
Ilhan Omar, first Somali-American legislator.
Catherine Cortez Masto, first Latino U.S. Senator.
Kamala Harris, first Indian Senator and California's first African-American Senator.
Tammy Duckworth, first Asian American woman to become Illinois Senator, first disabled woman to be elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, and the first member of Congress born in Thailand.
Carla Hayden, first female and African American Librarian of Congress.
Kate Brown, first openly bisexual person as governor of Oregon.
Stephanie Murphy, first Vietnamese-American woman to be voted role in congress.
Pramila Jayapal, first Indian-American woman to be elected to the US House of Representatives.
Lisa Blunt Rochester, first woman and the first black representative to serve Delaware in Congress.

BONUS: Hillary Clinton, first female in U.S. history to become a presidential nominee for the Democratic party: www.motherjones.com/politics/2…

Maybe if she pulled her head out of her ass and paid more attention to what's going on, she might not have looked so stupid and realized that the so-called "glass ceiling" has been shattered.

Minor error. Hillary was NOT the first female candidate for US President, just the first of the current 2 major parties. The honor correctly goes to Victoria Woodhull who in 1872 became the first female presidential candidate. Well over 140 years before the last election.

She was the first female to run, but was she a primary candidate? I think that's where the distinction is.

jkrolak In reply to brentcherry [2018-09-28 06:56:57 +0000 UTC]

No she was actually a primary candidate, although part of the Suffragette movement. The asterisk goes to Hillary who was the first DEMOCRATIC party nominee, not the first overall.

I used the Word "Satan" for a good Reason

And "You" described it well in one of your Artworks.

Hillary - and her Followers -> represent the WORST Attributes of Humankind.

" They are Bullies. They are arrogant. They are Liars. They are disrespectful. They are hateful. "

( AND they are willing to use criminal means in order to enforce their Will )

These/such People shouldn't be allowed to rule over ANY kind of Country - or get to elect and choose the official Leaders.

I wouldn't mind seeing a woman president. Women and men are biologically and psychologically different. I'd be interested to see how a woman leads over how a man leads.

But I want the RIGHT woman. Not Hellary!

Agreed. So long as the person can prove themselves to be capable of running a country, I couldn't care less about any immutable characteristic.

Kate Brown is an awful Governor. Take it from me. She set up a tax bill, that basically taxes us to use the toilet.  Next thing you know she will tax us for breathing. She is also a massive screw up that does more harm then she does good soooooo....

Okay. But that's not the point of this drawing. It was meant to highlight how inaccurate Hillary's statement was about the glass ceiling.

What makes this even more funny in my opinion is that in Finland we had a female president in 2000-2016 :,D So she won two election campaigns in row.

First Woman President, first Jewish President - Ivanka Trump? What do you think.

brensey In reply to trajan75 [2017-11-07 09:05:23 +0000 UTC]

As much as I would LOVE to see the mass liberal triggering that would ensue if another Republican named "Trump" claimed the titles of first woman and first Jewish person to be elected president; I couldn't support it because I don't like monarchies being in the White House. It was gross when the Bushes made being President a family business and it was gross when the Clintons tried to do it (though watching Hillary crash and burn was GLORIOUS!)

Y'know what would be even better? If Trump stood up on stage one day, said "I identify as a woman now", and claimed the title of First Female President. According to the left's current Dogma on transgenderism, they would HAVE to accept his claim even if it's plainly obvious that he's not serious and he's just trolling them for shits and giggles.

Don't care if she's a woman or Jewish, so long as her policies are pragmatic and she's able to handle the job.

Hmm.
I'm no fan of hillary but she was talking about becoming the first woman to become president "Highest and hardest glass ceiling", which she didn't achieve, therefore this picture makes no sense
all those women standing above the glass ceiling in the pic have not become president, so why are they up there? makes no sense.
Yes they have achieved good positions, not saying otherwise, but in context Hillary was talking about becoming the first female president of the US which is still yet to happen.
So wtf mate.

"Maybe if she pulled her head out of her ass and paid more attention to what's going on, she might not have looked so stupid and realized that the so-called "glass ceiling" has been shattered."
Has there been a female president of the USA? No? Well then you're wrong. Coz that's what she was talking about.

Lord-FireFox In reply to Crimzen250 [2017-10-28 09:59:32 +0000 UTC]

The US will have a Woman President but it won't be Hillary.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

brentcherry In reply to Crimzen250 [2017-06-30 03:16:39 +0000 UTC]

Because those women have all made milestones in during the election campaigns, making her "glass ceiling" argument inaccurate.

👍: 1 ⏩: 1

Crimzen250 In reply to brentcherry [2017-06-30 05:04:01 +0000 UTC]

No. Her statement was about the US presidency. Therefore since there has never been a female US president it is accurate.

brentcherry In reply to Crimzen250 [2017-06-30 16:51:56 +0000 UTC]

I know it was. I didn't say it was completely invalid. Just that it was inaccurate.

PhantomGreyFox [2017-04-29 07:18:49 +0000 UTC]

Honestly I bet America does get a female president, it will because the left will be too busy infighting (probably out of becoming too progressive to the point of impairment as is shown right now) and the right just swoops in and steals the show like what the Conservatives did with Margret Thatcher in the U.K. Of course I can't predict the future, I could be wrong

Senators and govenors might be important in their own way, they just don't get the same level of recognition as presidents do.

Its like with comic books, there's inkers, colorists and letterers who do important work, but its mainly just the writers and pencilers that get attention.

Or movies.  Lighting, make up, props, set design, sound editing, and a whole bunch of other fields help make a movie great, but its usually just directors and major actors that get the attention.

Folks. remember when President Trump said that he would not accept the results of the election? Killary excoriated him for saying that. She should've taken her own advice and got on the mic to tell her supporters not to be destructive.

brentcherry In reply to ChuckKopsho [2017-02-25 06:31:51 +0000 UTC]

She did. She explicitly stated in the same speech that "we must accept the results of this election". But of course, people care more about their feelings than the advice given to them.
