Let's see, I can give you few tips.
1. It is very important what kind of paper you use. I haven't figure out how to do good looking drawings on bad papers. My favor 2 are, smooth bristol board, and 140 lb hot press watercolor paper.
2. Try to draw from life as much as possible. If you have to work from a photo, find one that shows good range of shades. You can make you reference photo black and white in photoshop if you have it, make different shades easier to see.
3. You need few pencils with different darkness, like H( light,) B, and a 5B( dark.) More if you like. You want to have a good range of shades in your drawing. Get kneaded erasers. These are the erasers that you can shape it like clay.
4. Look at the big picture. Find the lightest light, and darkest dark from the references you are working from. No spot in your drawing should be lighter than lightest spot... vice versa. This is way more important than it sounds. And it is a common mistake even I would make sometimes.
5. How to hide pencil marks. This is not easy, at all. It comes with practice, a lot of it. What you want to do are layers of pencil marks, that's best I can describe it without showing you.
6. When you think you are done, see if you can spend another 20 hours on it.

i like the whole piece overall, but what spoke to me the most about it was, that the art speaks to you in this piece (the fairy talks to the artist), which shows how art can inspirate people and i simply love the execution of that idea in this picture, since my drawings often inspirate me as well ;D

Great work!! That's really original! I like it when people use some kind of reference, but totally change it into something from their own, you know what I mean?
I hope cause it's a compliment, I might try something like that too, with another scene I mean, but I think it's hard.. is it?
but it's amazing!!
