Kerchak is my favorite character of the movie, and I just love his design. There is just something powerful and awe inspiring about his presence.
I tell you what, if Disney would ever wise up and make a 2-D animated version of King Kong (with a PG-13 rating of course), I would seriously suggest that you should design the giant gorilla.
Just saying what's on my mind. Great work of a great character. Keep up the good work dude!

Once we finished a drawing, it had to go to Effects to add shadows, then over to checking (which would make sure that everything needed for the scene was complete, and also check that no lines got smeared.) Then it was over to the Camera Department to be scanned, and finally to color. The drawings were labeled and stored, just in case anything went wrong and they needed to be referred to again.
Also, the drawings we did are considered the property of Disney. Artists usually own any work they do, but companies hire us in a way that makes it clear that they own the artwork. Animators are the only creatives in Hollywood not to get residuals. This way, the guy who invented Kerchak, who designed him, can't claim any of the profits from the character.

Oh okay !!
As simple fan, I've never thought that will be like that ! But I think it's obligatory, otherwise they will have a lot of problem, and they will own money to the people who created Kerchak, Stitch, O'Malley, etc each time they will use their image in Disney's Park or mere goodies.
Thank you very much for the information !

Awesome! How much did you work on? Next time I see Tarzan, I'll keep an eye out for your name in the credits.
