Very special, her pose is so innocent, and she is almost in this "fetal position" kinda. Her shoulders.. EVERYTHING is so beautiful, and very feminine, also like if she were a child. Her wild hair is unique and fascinating, the colors and the simplicity of your stroke is spectacular.

Thank you I went for as little lines as possible on the body so that the hair would kind of stick out more.

I just use regular mechanical pencils and q-tips for shading The golden color/red look is added warmth I do after I upload it onto the computer.

Wonderful workmanship! For some reason your work reminds me of a cross between Egon Schiele and Olivia

You complain about the hair but seriously girl .. this is amazing. I love how simple it is, but each little line and shadow makes it whole. I wish my figure drawings were like this .. I end up adding TOO much, and it just gets muddy. I really should look into practicing figure drawing again .. I can never seem to get past the face.

That's why in a lot of my figure drawings I find angles where the face is hidden. >.< I hate drawing faces sometimes. When you have to scale them down they end up looking very cartoony.

Oh I love the faces .. I end up ONLY doing faces, and skipping the rest. But also true .. hard to scale them down. I end up trying to add too much detail, and it gets all muddy. I'll have to practice that too.

love the simplicity of it and the position of the figure- so comfortable yet feels pushed almost. I like how there is weight to her even though there is no distinct ground.

^_^ thank you. I think she's probably my most simple drawing. I didn't add a whole bunch of shading to her.

You are most welcome! and simplicity sometimes works really well (like here!), otherwise it might be overworked. It's like a giant guessing game!

Great lines but the color gives it depth. Reminds me of Egon Schiele. I love sleeping portraits.

woah! how do you get the paper to look like that? or does it just come that way?
the hair looks so soft X3

BrickRed1 In reply to YESEG92 [2008-01-24 06:57:13 +0000 UTC]
actually when I photograph the paper in the kitchen it adds a yellow tinge which I bring out when I put it up on the computer by adjusting the hue and saturation of it. ^_^
