I was sorely tempted to give the old lady Peter Rabbit legs, but anatomical nerdiness won out (though I readily admit to having tweaked things in my own way).

Both of these illustrations are very beautiful and detailed, just as your other works, and I love the alteration with the rabbit! I remember seeing both of these when they were the old woman and I admit I think it's a bit of an improvement too, although each has their unique charms. Maybe I favor this one since I'm biased toward bunnies...

However, I felt the need to point out that your comment about the legs being "anatomical nerdiness" doesn't make much sense to me because the legs are very anatomically illogical. If you observe rabbits standing on their hind legs, they end up in one of two options, neither of which are what you have pictured.

When rabbits/hares stand with knees bent, as you have shown, their entire foot is flat against the ground: www.picturesof.net/_images_300… , i89.photobucket.com/albums/k21…
When rabbits/hares stand on their tip toes, as you have shown, their knees are extended:

There is not a combination of both. This doesn't make much sense to me in how the rabbit could possibly walk with the knees folded up so close to its body as this, and frankly, it just looks awkward and isn't pleasing to the eye.

Hope that helps! Wonderful job even so.

That was in reference to the fact that the legs have not been simplified to circles and feet, not that they are real-world accurate.

I'm leaning more toward the tip toes with extended knees, but in the end I am aware of some cheating going on in order to get a rabbit model that can sit and stand and walk like a person would.  I am looking to re-tool this image so that it is a closer match to my model sheet on tumblr (something went screwy in the translation), but that model sheet is a combination of both that, truly, does not exist in nature.
