Description
Does re-posting an old image warrant stoning? Hope not--I felt that the changes were significant enough to warrant it.I had an art director look at the Watcher and suggest that the old woman be another animal instead--and originally the old woman was going to be a rabbit, before I had to cram some people into my portfolio.
Goes to show, go with your first instinct.
So the Old Woman is a rabbit again.

Thank you! The piece on paper is 9"x16" (finished size, with a little bleed). It's done entirely in black and white graphite, and I color it digitally. If you are interested, I post most of my graphite originals to my blog so people can see the "before and afters." elisabethcraster.tumblr.com/

Was a camel used a reference for "the Watcher"?. The picture turned out really well.

Thank you! I was actually on vacation and so only just came home to see this. Funnily enough, the last time I got a DD, I was away on business. Maybe I should leave more often.
New piece coming shortly, thank you for your continued interest in my work.

I like both versions but yes, the story they tell is definitely different

Funnily enough the actual written story got more depressing with the rabbit. xD

Because you had to rewrite it and the new version included more "sadness" or because it felt more depressing when the old lady was exchanged for an old rabbit?

It's more due to my greater ability with animals than with human expressions. That seems backwards I know, but in the rest of the dummy book the images had greater emotional weight because I was better able to put the emotions I wanted to convey on a rabbit's face.
Because I am strange. xD

Ah, that makes sense actually. I'm far better at 'reading' animal expressions than I am at human ones.
Doesn't sound the least bit strange to me

In this case, re-posting is ok
It still looks really good no matter what species the old woman is.
