Commission for CptConfusion , with their ponies Yew and Forest!
I enjoyed working on this commission, and shoved a fitting background on here. These two were really fun to draw. Yew is officially the cutest pony I've ever drawn, like wow. A+ cutie baby.

Actually that isn't the fact, just grass is too boring. His fur is deep and fluffy moss as it better keeps in his heat andΒ fits along the line of fur better than before. The rest of his body is made of different plants and some rocks that take up the place of what would originally be flesh. For example hard iron wood for bones, certain plants for muscles and so on. One of my favorites is his hair which I've based off of a customized version of leaves from trees that constantly photosynthesis and were based off trees in fall.
And I would definitely say so, due to his nature of being he constantly gives off an aura of life that plants feed off of and makes them grow exponentially. Unlike normal magic it does mutate them along the way and can make them into entirely different plants including giant ones with teeth and poisenous effects. I like to think of him as a constant nuclear reactor leaking. In addition to making plants mutate and grow much larger he can also communicate with them mentally and physically.
The plants he grows tend to be sentient and can think on their own while other can move about and plan certain things. Sadly this is something that can never get turned off and at time's he's caused forests to grow over entire sections of land just by sleeping there. And for long periods after that they just keep growing until they become the size of the Everfree and make sure to live on and prosper. The more plants he mutates in this fashiont he stronger they get as they give him their support and love.

Its not magic for her either, it just came with the random ascension she got (im still writing how she got an alicorn state)
But that's a bit unfortunate that he has the mutated affect on the plants around him :c
But if the plants that live among him love him back, then there's a sweet ending to hear ^^
So he doesn't live in everfree, he lives in a forest he created on his own?

The only problem with the mutated effect is if he's feeling bad. His subconscious has a effect on how the plants grow and if he's doing it on purpose he can easily carve them into new shapes and forms. So if he's truly in a bad and angry mood... well he can pretty much overload an entire area so it is nightmarish. Oh and since he's all plant he can use mutation powers on himself.
Hmm how he would look like more realistically, I guess you've already got him down pretty well the biggest thing is to make him look very plant like methings as his pysche of thinking of himself of a zebra is what keeps him in that form. (If he thought of himself as a unicorn his body would change into one that is a copy of it.) Oh and I'm thinking for a more realistic end form for him to have large leafy wings that resemble trees. Do have a pic where he has them and it's nice. Though before the redraw by you.
He mostly does live in the Everfree as it was a big centerpiece in what caused him to be and there more than anywhere else the radiation given off his body is contained. Though he has been working on making entirely new forests to live in.
And he would always love more friends, though I feel bad for him he's kind of immortal and pretty much unkillable in the sense of erasing his presence entirely so he'll see a lot of his eventually die off and fadeaway.

Ohhhh, so if he really wanted to, he can disguise himself as a timberwolf or even a plant dragon!

And I'd like to see that pick, gives me an idea of another possible redraw -wink--wink-
least with a forest he creates he can control where and how far its reaches go and to hopefully not invade any towns and villages on accident, and he can live in peace with those he cares about :3
For some reason the fact he's immortal makes me think hes like a phoenix, once his body gets too old i see a little flower blooming in place to where his old body once was, and once its big enough, out pops a little reborn forest as a baby, with big innocent yellow eyes his stripes and cutiemark and everything!!

One, the hopefully quell mood swings did occur... until his one he had a crush on perished. And yeah he has to have love for him to properly cool down or all hell will eventually break loose.
Hmm and for the pick the most likely thing woudl be a Timbrewolf. Hell at one point I planned out a scene where wood shots out from his body and he shifts to the general feel of a timbrewolf. It was amazing but painful. Hmm I'm actually not sure of bunny or bear though dragon and timbrewolf were the two most obvious ones. I'd guess between the two it would be either a bunny or a large hawk.
And for the control he has been doing that and for the part about the area he lives in. That's what he's doing with the Everfree. He's slowly turning it into a place where ponies can live happier and it won't hurt anypony. He's even taming all the timbrewolves. Oh and in my head the Everfree does like to have people love it though it's grumpy because of how much it was chopped off.
Oooh nice idea, though he can easily repair himself constantly so that may not happen. However if his body was torn to pieces I imagine that's how it would occur and he'd grow up very quickly.

I couldn't stop laughing when I first saw this. Yew is soo adorable and Forest is just perfect. Though I do regret especially not getting more than one commission at the beginning now D:. Still thank you so much for this Yew and Forest's face~ And I agree Yew is one of the cutest ponies ever.

Ponies are hard, man. It took me ages to get the anatomy right, and even know I have trouble.
I use my tablet, but I also use the vector tool from SAI. That's recently, though. I have a brush that's so much better than a pen that I use for lineart! It's so much smoother, and coupled between the vector layers and that it makes things much easier. (Here's a picture of the settings if you want it! my friend names it "Sweet Desu Jesus" xD)
