The liquid is not 100% water. I've added some guar gum and rinse aid. The colors are just blue and purple filters one the flashes.
My setup looks like this [link]
Did that explanation help?

Awesome picture! May I ask how you took it, or is it tricks of the trade?

Thank you
It's mostly about timing. Is there anything particular you want to know about it?

Thank you
The shape was created by two drops colliding. I was just there to capture the result at the exact right the moment.

Amazing! Perfect shot. You deserve a reward or something. That must have been torture to get.

I don't know what you dropped in that water but it looks very different from what I've seen.
Keep up!

If you look closely, it almost appears as though there is a small figure at the apex of the ellipse in a diving-like pose. And if you use enough imagination the remainder of the ellipse could be a time-lapse sequence of figures flying around in an arc... Like a circus act of sorts. Light and shadow do weird things at times.
Very nice.

Yeah, it's amazing how many shapes and things you can see in a splash of water. When I take pictures like this one I get a lot of different ones and every time I look at a new picture I find things, people and faces. And every time I look through the pictures again I see new things... but that's just how the human brain is wired.
Thank you
