Oh, no worries!
Whiplash is like. Have you ever suddenly jerked your head so hard, you think your neck broke? like it's this painful feeling, an injury caused by a severe jerk to the head.
it's like a sudden thing. all of a sudden, typically in a car accident or something, you'll get whiplash because it happens so fast, if that makes sense?
and so i used it here, because the love ended so abruptly, it caused...like a metaphorical snap. you know what i mean?
a few definitions that might help:
The feeling one gets after a painful sudden realization that something they once thought is not true.
The mental effect of realizing that a basic assumption of your entire life was wrong from day one , usually resulting from a totally new thought, comment, or experience that flies in the face of everything you currently know.
and this is lesser of what i meant, but could also help:
When a friend is who normally associates with you acts cold to you for no apparent reason and it makes your head spin, hence, whiplash. Can be with a boyfriend or girlfriend as well.
i hope it makes sense? (:

Oh...! Like when I found out the week starts on Sunday, not Monday!
Haha, I'm only kidding.
I don't think I've ever really experienced that emotional feeling before, actually. A sudden snap...no, not that I recall. The jerk to the head either.
I do see how the concept works and fits in with what you were saying in the poem, though! That does make sense to me!
Thanks for explaining! That was really interesting!! C:

Haha! That, honestly, could work at least a little bit. C:
And no, it's okay. It's almost, yeah, like a slap in the face? Floor ripped from under your feet? Things like that. Whiplash, is what it's called. (:
I'm glad it makes sense, once you got the meaning of the word! That really is a sigh of relief. Because it's like, yeah, it happened so sudden, so fast-–almost like a slap in the face. A car accident. Etc.
Thank you. C: <3

Haha
Hm.. I see. Yeah, I don't think I'm familiar with this sensation, because emotional pain is always an ache for me. Not a sudden jerk.
Yeah, it does. Pretty neat way of using it here. Thanks again for explaining it..it's neat to learn new things!

Only eleven words, and it felt like a kick to the stomach. (in the best of ways, of course)
This is stunning.

Pardon my keysmash--invoking feeling is something i crave to do, so when someone says it's been done, I get so excited.
Honestly, I'm so honored! Thank you so much for your kind words.
They really, really mean so much to me.
