that there was reason for me
on this earth
that no matter what i did or did not
accomplish,
there was a fucking reason
why i was here
so that maybe i didn't grow up thinking
the atoms composing my body
could have gone to something

not to listen to a negative word
anyone would say about me
that their tongues spit out lies
like acid, searing into my skin
until i was just a pile
of bones
so that maybe i wouldn't have
such problems with myself
today.

that love was a beautiful thing and
i fucking deserved it,
no matter who i wanted it from,
so that maybe my mind wouldn't hate
my heart enough that it squeezes
until shut
every time an opportunity
arises.
