Description
Hello paper-addicts and visitors from other galaxies! Some time ago I made this Turbo model designed by Clarisse Albeit for my little nephew . He loves this character and he was only one year and a half old when I decided to build it . It was printed on 220 gr opaline, regulate size photographic quality, and varnished with matt varnish and ultra gloss varnish .
It was the first time I used hot glue to literally fill the whole model, because I needed the model was rock hard (so at least would last for a little longer in his hands )
Assembly time and filling : 3 days
Varnishing Time : 1 day
Time for taking pictures : 3 hours
Time the model lasted intact in his hands : 5 min!
Surprised face when he received his gift : Priceless!
As always, questions and comments are welcome!

I wanted to do so brighter, at least for taking photos .

New record for youngsters, I even can't let my models touched!
(And hey I never thought of using glue gun as filler! You're a genius!!! )
But there will be one someday! I hope he can last for at least three minutes (remember my bumblebee?)

I knew from the start that this would happen , still, I decided to try to harden much as I could (such as with Yoshi).
The hot glue proved quite effective, but I used a huge amount of bars to fill it . In addition it must be done carefully because the glue can stain model's textures and should be very hot, or otherwise will cool down before reaching the edges of the model.
For a moment I forgot the request of Bumblebee .

Well that's expected since that's already a year old request of mine.
I been using hot glue for years but in this purpose, it's always been a glue for stubborn cardboards in building armors.
Anyway, does the model survived the clutches of your nephew?

Yep, sorry
No the model didn't survive much as planned . In fact I gave him --> I went into the bathroom --> I left the bathroom... and Turbo had lost his spoiler .
Days later he was playing with the snail as if they were racing, and literally he recreated the end of the movie, when Turbo crashes . Let's just say it didn't have a happy ending .

That's painful, a lot.
He really treated it as a toy huh?
So what happened to your nephew? Is he still fine? I will feel sorry for him if he realized that he just destroyed his own special toy that can't be undone....

Not that much! I knew it would happen sooner or later
. I wanted him plays like he had a toy
That's the great thing about being a kid, you don't give much importance to material things.
Only occasionally he said "it has no eyes" (well, in almost Spanish ).
And now the model only survives with a good amount of adhesive tape, and yet he plays with this .

Then that's GREAT!!! Good to hear that he really enjoys it!(even with broken parts!)
Oh boy, I hope I could have great kids someday! (then one of them will become my successor... )

Yep, he could play even with a box or bucket (in fact that's what he does ).
I don't expect him to be my successor , but I hope he's happy at what he will do
.

Well said! I know what it's like to have a little monster running around- it sometimes cheers me up, and other times annoys the heck out of me

Well, yes, they can be very demanding and can absorb your energy .
But it is because they have that hunger to learn and understand the world around them . And it's fascinating their enthusiasm and sense of wonder that we are losing over time . So it's amazing re-learn along with them

There was a "very little" reason to do so
