Felix has been a slave for five years. However, he feels like he's been a slave for his whole life, because he remembers nothing of his first five years of live. He doesn't remember his parents, where he came from, or anything. I he knows his being a slave and being in Lord Williams castle with countless other slaves. He has had a harsh life. He is constantly beaten if he doesn't do his tasks or do them right. Sometimes, he's beaten for no reason at all. He only gets stale bread for breakfast and dinner, as long as he grabs some before the other slaves because it's a free for all. He has found no happiness in his life.

Lord William has given Felix a new task among all his other ones. He is to feed Lord Williams new "guest": a Felaryan dridder! At first, Felix was fearful of the creature, because it's gigantic and said to eat humans without remorse, but the more he walked into the cell, the more he started to understand that she's just a child and a person like any other, well, except that she is a giant dridder. In this dridder, he has found his first true friend.
